Adrian Isaia

Visionary artist Adrian Isaia uses art to deconstruct and re-assemble ancestral traumas into functional patterns. He now focuses exclusively on oil painting. His previous experience of various media, including digital , informs his canvas structure. He draws on diverse cultural sources including literature, history, art, music and religion, which become catalysts for deeply personal works.

 

In his work, Isaia digests visual inspiration into private psychological investigations which go beyond biographical experience. His 2022 Octopose canvas series, through its intuitive sense of colour, composition and surface blurs the lines of figurative art. His works favour Jungian metaphysics and yet keep a sense of humour through the subtle physicality of the characters and strong use of colour.

 

He debuted a new works in 2023/24, united under the name of "The Spectre Collector". In it, Isaia goes deep in his own psyche to elucidate personal trauma with the purpose of collective healing. The themes he accesses, universal and profoundly personal at the same time, are birth, death and the quest for eternity.
